Midsummer Night's
Sueño

Fashion Show

Will be held at 7:30pm on Friday, August 29 in Savannah at the beautiful Forsyth Park fountain.

An ethereal, effervescing affair is a modern representation of ancient styling. Inspiration comes from ancient Egyptian themes, intricate detail, and unique styling on diverse models, environed by exciting music and enticing lighting.

The stunning Anitra Warren will start off the runway with a beautiful and passionate performance, followed by the radiant designs created by local fashion designers, being displayed by ethereal, otherworldly figures.
This show is an experimental project that combines the designs and artistic efforts of the arts-loving community of Savannah, while also giving back to the local community with the collection of clothing for the homeless.

Imagine:
It's an enchanted evening fashion show in late August. You're in a Savannah square, the models are beautifully non-traditional, and the fashion designs are inspired by a scarab/peacock palette, and have elements of the ancient, modern, and other-worldly. The hair and makeup are unique and ethereal. There are light projections in the trees and the sounds are experimental. The crowd is eclectic and creative, and you are there, yet on another planet.

Gazing in the Garden

Saturday, August 30, 2014
Dusk (~7:45 pm) to 10 pm

Free to the Public

In partnership with the Oglethorpe Astronomical Association, enjoy the tropical-feeling evening with "space fun" and stargazing. Begin the night with the viewing of a classic mid-20th century sci-fi movie in the Annex. Tonight's film will be "The Day of the Triffids" (1963). Prepare yourself for bad acting and cheesy special effects that will make you chuckle (or groan) compared to today's movie-making standards!

After the August sun sets at 7:52 pm, the large waxing gibbous moon becomes more visible as the sky darkens. Join them on the Great Lawn for viewing of the moon, constellations and Milky Way Galaxy through various-size telescopes that Association members (or you) bring.

Dress for the evening weather, bring bug spray and a favorite cool beverage, lawn chair and snack basket  (alcohol is prohibited).

Call us and we can pack your hamper!

A Nigerian
Wedding Cake!

Chef Ted is never surprised when he gets a request for the new and different!

Recently, he was requested to craft a Nigerian Milk Jug Cake.  In this African tradition, the jug has an important role to play in marriage rites as symbol of fertility. Traditionally, the jug is given by the family of the groom to the new couple.

This particular creation was also crafted with fondant African Wedding Beads and Bracelets. The work was identical to the originals presented to the bride.

A Pre-Course Fantasy

The Amuse Bouche

Delight your guest with an unexpected sampling!

Amuse-bouche (French for "happy mouth") aren't reserved for exclusive restaurants anymore. The tiny bites served just before your meal are now popping up at dinner party tables in homes everywhere.

Traditionally, amuse-bouche were tiny, bite-sized treats sent out by the chef to whet diners' appetites for the meal to follow. Unlike appetizers, diners don't get to choose their amuse-bouche from the menu. They're pleasantly surprised with whatever the chef prepares for them.

Amuse-bouche can be as simple as a bowl of olives or freshly baked artisanal bread served with extra virgin olive oil for dipping, but they're often extravagant concoctions of foams, mousses, and gelées from talented chefs. Home cooks can serve elegant and palate pleasing amuse-bouche by using quality ingredients with big flavors.
